Finnoflag has created innovative new solutions and a new technology for the sampling, transportation, enrichment, diagnosis and analysis of microbes, which phases together form an integrated microbe diagnostics process. Our new microbe detection method and the development of products are based on modern microbiological and biotechnological research. This research began as projects at Kuopio University in Finland. These projects concentrated especially on rapid detection methods and the development work of the exploitable technology began in 1992 and was continued by Finnoflag. Finnoflag Oy holds immaterial property rights to the technology and its products. The problems in traditional microbe detection relate to getting the microbes to grow in an optimal way and how, after the enrichment phase, could the microbes be reliably detected as quickly as possible from as small quantities as possible. Slow or late detection of pathogenic, food contaminating or otherwise problematic bacteria or other microbes may cause health risks and poor quality food products or unacceptable processes. Finnoflag products have been developed to solve these problems. |
